Supervision Cerificate (PSM Mark)
The importance of obtaining the Palestinian Supervision Mark (PSM mark) came as a proof of conformity of products to the technical specifications in the Palestinian standards/regulations. There are several benefits that can be achieved through obtaining the PSM Mark; some examples can be summarized as follows:
- It is an important way to guide the consumer towards goods conforming to the standards.
- Gain Palestinian consumer confidence.
- Build appropriate commercial basis to facilitate local trade agreements.
- Enhance the reputation of the organizations which have the certificate in local markets.
- Support the national economy.
- The organizations will be able to mark the products with a label of the certificate of supervision for promotion purposes.
- Priority shall be given to PSM certified products in the official tenders, according to the relevant decisions made by Ministers Council.
Steps to obtain the Palestinian supervision certificate
1. The application form should be handed to Certification Department or using the online portal of the PSI.
2. The submitted application will be assessed by the certification department.
3. When necessary, a free initial visit will be conducted for the applicant company.
4. Samples of products will be taken by the concerned department, for testing and inspections purposes according to the relevant standard.
5. In the case of complying, the test reports will be evaluated by technical committee for initial decision for certification.
6. If the tests result NOT comply with the requirements and specifications, the producer will be required to make the necessary adjustments, and agree to redo the samples and test procedures as required.
7. The Technical Committee shall submit a recommendation either approving the granting or rejecting it.
8. The Supervisory Committee shall approve the file for the final decision of granting the mark. Then to sign the agreement and deliver the product the supervision certificate.
9. A periodic surveillance will be conducted; otherwise, the certificate will be suspended for the necessary actions.
10. Fees and financial dues shall be paid by the producer to the account of the PSI, according to the system of fees collection. The advertisement in two daily newspapers at the expenses of the producer. However, the producer can label his products with the PSM mark according to the marking system. 11. Renewal process of the PSM certificate will be by the end of every year (December from every year).
