The annual olive oil chart
The PSI organizes the Golden Olive Oil Competition on an annual basis, this aims to raise the level of quality of extra virgin olive oil, enhance the image of Palestinian olive oil among local and external markets. In addition to giving the productions chain a positive opportunity to compete, through implementing the good agricultural and production practices.
At the end of olive harvest season, the PSI invites farmers and producers to apply to the competition according to a certain conditions and criteria.
The samples are subject to be tested by the laboratory of the PSI, this includes conducting a sensory evaluation and a chemical analysis. Samples will be selected according to the requirements of the Palestinian Standard for olive oil (No. P.S 188). Based on the evaluation results, the organizers will choose the best samples to move to the final stage, and the winner will be announced.
